The applicable materials and types of contamination should be clearly identified. For example, chlorine-based disinfectants should not be used on metal or colored fabrics, and strong acid cleaners should not be used on marble or other carbonate stone surfaces. The required dosage should be calculated in advance based on the area, degree of contamination, and material characteristics of the object to be treated to avoid blindly increasing the concentration or using excessive amounts, which wastes resources and increases safety risks.
Regarding personal protection, appropriate protective equipment should be worn as needed. When handling strong acids, strong alkalis, volatile solvents, or high-concentration disinfectants, wear chemical-resistant gloves, protective goggles, or a face shield, and operate in a well-ventilated environment. When using aerosol products, avoid direct inhalation; use fans or exhaust systems to reduce the concentration in the air. Tie up long hair and loose clothing, or wear tight-fitting work clothes to reduce the risk of accidental contamination and entanglement.
During preparation and use, strictly follow the recommended concentration and proportion methods. If liquid products require dilution, add the chemical to clean water first, not in reverse, to prevent violent heat release or splashing. Dissolve powders in a small amount of water to create a stock solution before adding water to the required volume to avoid clumping and uneven distribution. When using spray or atomizing equipment, maintain an appropriate distance between the nozzle and the surface (generally 20–30 cm), and move at a uniform speed to ensure even coverage and avoid excessive local accumulation that could lead to corrosion or residue. Storage and disposal are also important extensions of the operating procedures. Unused chemicals should be sealed in their original or clearly labeled containers and stored in a cool, dark place out of reach of children and pets, avoiding high temperatures or freezing that could damage the containers and cause decomposition of the components. Expired or spoiled products should not be disposed of indiscriminately down the drain or mixed with household waste. They should be disposed of according to the classification requirements for hazardous waste or hazardous household waste by a qualified unit to prevent environmental pollution.
